Members Update – 17th April 2020


Firstly, I hope this finds you are all safe and well. This communication is to give you an overview of the NSF’s proposed activity over the coming period.

The NSF is fully co-operating with the measures necessary to contain the COVID-19 coronavirus, protect the health and safety of all and to support, as far as the NSF can, credit unions offering more flexible services than usual such as more flexible and staggered opening hours; longer/shorter days or weekend availability and remote meetings etc.

Following public health guidance, the NSF has cancelled all face-to-face meetings and training initiatives for the foreseeable future. The Executive Committee will review the year’s schedule of activities on an on-going basis.

Executive Committee members are equipped to work remotely and remain in regular contact with each other relative to the ongoing administration of the organisation.

The NSF is engaging weekly by conferences call with the Department of Finance, Central Bank, Credit Union Managers Association, Irish league of Credit Unions & the Credit Union Development Association. These virtual meetings cover a wide verity of topics emphasising the Credit Union sector’s concerns throughout this challenging period.

In the course of this crisis, the NSF will be using its website ( to keep members updated. The website now has a dedicated COVID 19 section which is updated regularly.
